Cookie Policy

What we use today

Chameleon Theatre has no advertising and doesn't set any first-party cookie. We use technical storage necessary for the site to work and, only if you explicitly turn them on, two optional third-party services: embedded YouTube videos and web analytics (Google Analytics).

Necessary storage (always on)

We save the language, light/dark theme and text size you choose in the accessibility panel in your browser (localStorage, not a cookie), so we don't have to ask you again on every page. It isn't shared with anyone, can't identify you, and can't be turned off because the site wouldn't work without it.

Third-party cookies: YouTube videos

Pages with video serve it through youtube-nocookie.com, the domain Google offers to reduce tracking cookies. The video doesn't load when the page opens: it only activates if you press "Play", and only if you've accepted the "YouTube videos" category in the cookie banner. If you decline it, you'll see a notice with a link to turn it on whenever you like, instead of the video.

Once played, YouTube may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy, separate from ours: policies.google.com/privacy.

Analytics: Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) to know which pages get visited and how much traffic the site gets. It doesn't load by default: it only turns on if you accept the "Analytics" category in the cookie banner. If you decline it or don't decide, no data is ever sent to Google.

Google may process this data on servers outside the European Economic Area, under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. More information in their privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

How to change your decision

You can accept, decline or change the "YouTube videos" and "Analytics" categories at any time with the "Manage cookies" link in the footer, which reopens the same panel. You can also clear cookies and local storage from your browser's settings.
